The Serge Rachmaninoff Foundation and the Canton of Lucerne
Thanks to the commitment of the Serge Rachmaninoff Foundation and the Canton of Lucerne, the uncertainties surrounding the property’s inheritance were resolved in 2021. The Canton of Lucerne purchased the property, which is a listed building, and is responsible for its renovation and maintenance, including the park and it’s opening for the public. The Serge Rachmaninoff Foundation is responsible for events in Rachmaninoff’s Villa Senar from its own funds, curates and organizes the cultural program and provides for public events.

Vision
We are the zone of encounter, at the composer’s home, authentic, experienceable, quality and special. The program is designed for a broad cultural participation, seeks the interfaces to the present and thus enables suitable access for every stakeholder group. Rachmaninoff’s Villa Senar will be anchored locally and regionally, and together with partners we will make the Hertenstein peninsula a special and sustainable place of culture and tourism, where Rachmaninoff’s work and creative power can be experienced.
