Privacy policy

Serge Rachmaninoff Foundation respects your privacy
The protection of your privacy when processing personal data as well as the security of all personal data are important concerns for us. With this data protection declaration, we inform you about what data we process from you, what we need this data for and how you can object to the data processing.
We only collect, process and store personal data in accordance with the statutory provisions or if you have given us your consent to do so, for example as part of a registration process.

What personal data do we collect?
We only collect personal data that is related to our relationship with you. The data we collect includes, in particular, your contact details such as name, telephone number, address or e-mail address as well as other details, especially in connection with the use of our website or when registering for our electronic newsletter. In the case of employment contracts, the provisions in the personnel regulations also apply. The general terms and conditions apply to registration for our events. In contrast, information that cannot be linked to your identity (e.g. statistical information on the number of users of our online services) is not considered personal data.

How do we collect personal data?
As a rule, we collect personal data in the following cases: When you visit our website; when you communicate directly with us; when you register for our newsletter or events; when you participate in a survey; or when you provide us with your personal data for other reasons. In all cases, we will only process your personal data for the purpose that is specific and identifiable to you.

Do we share your personal information?
We will only pass on your personal data to other third parties if we are legally entitled to do so or if you have given us your consent to do so. This is the case, for example, if we have postal deliveries carried out by third parties, e.g. printers. If data is disclosed abroad, we ensure that we comply with the relevant legal requirements (guarantee of adequate protection).
External service providers who process data on our behalf are strictly bound by contract within the meaning of the Federal Data Protection Act. We have ensured that the external service providers are able to ¬guarantee data security. They may only transfer the processing of personal data to a third party with our prior approval.

How long do we store your personal data?
We generally store your data for as long as our business relationship with you requires or we have a legitimate interest in continuing to store it. In all other cases, we delete your personal data with the exception of data that we ¬must continue to store in order to fulfil legal ¬obligations (e.g. we are obliged to store documents such as contracts and invoices for a period of 10 years due to legal retention periods¬).

What data is processed when using our internet pages?
In principle, you can visit our Internet pages without having to provide any personal information. When you visit our website, our servers temporarily save each access in a ¬log file. The following technical data is recorded and stored by us until automatic deletion after seven months at the latest:
• Date and time of access
• Internet page from which the access was made, if applicable with the search word used.
• Name and URL of the retrieved file
• Searches carried out
• the operating system of your computer (provided by the user agent)
• Browser you use (provided by the user agent)
• Device type in case of access by mobile phones
• Transmission protocol used
The collection and processing of this data is used for system security and stability and for error and performance analysis as well as for internal statistical purposes and enables us to optimise our Internet offering. The IP address is also used to preset the language of the website. Finally, we use cookies and applications and tools based on the use of cookies when you visit our website. You will find more details on this in the following chapter.

What are cookies and when are they used?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer when you visit our website. If you call up the page again, your browser sends the content of the cookies back to us and thus enables recognition of the end device. The reading of cookies enables us to optimally design our website for you and to make it easier for you to use.
If you decide not to accept cookies, you can deactivate and delete all cookies in your browser at any time. Please refer to the help functions of ¬your browser for more information.¬ However, deactivating cookies may mean that certain functions of our website are no longer available to you. If you use another browser or another end device, you must deactivate or delete them again.
It is also possible to manage and disable the use of cookies by third parties via the following website: http://www.youronlinechoices.com/de/praferenzmanagement. This website is not operated by us, so we are not responsible and have no influence on its content and availability.

How are tracking tools used?

We need statistical information about the use of our online offer (especially website and newsletter) in order to make it more user-friendly, to measure reach ¬and to conduct market research. For this purpose, we use web analysis tools, in particular Google Analytics. The usage profiles created by these tools with the help of analysis cookies are not merged with personal data. The tools either do not use IP addresses of users at all or shorten them immediately after collection.
In addition to the data listed above (see “What data is processed when you use our Internet pages?”), we thereby obtain the following information:
• Navigation path that a visitor follows on the website.
• Dwell time on the website or subpage
• Subpage on which the internet page is left
• Country, region or city from where access is made
• End device (type, version, colour depth, resolution, width and height of the browser window)
• Returning or new visitor
The information is used to evaluate the use of the website. If you would like to deactivate Google Analytics, you can find the appropriate browser add-on at http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de. As explained in the previous chapter, you can prevent the creation of usage profiles altogether by generally deactivating the use of cookies.

Social media
On our website you will find links or plug-ins to various social networks (such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.). Clicking on the links opens the corresponding social media pages to which this data protection declaration does not apply. For details on the provisions that apply there, please refer to the corresponding data protection statements on the websites of the individual providers.
No personal information is transmitted to the respective providers before the corresponding link or plug-in is called up. Your access to the linked page is at the same time the basis for the data processing by the respective providers. We have no influence on the data processing operations, nor are we aware of the full extent of the data collection, the purposes of the processing and the storage periods. We also have no information on the deletion of data by the plug-in providers.

Newsletter
You can subscribe to newsletters as part of our online offer. We use the so-called double opt-in procedure for this, according to which we will only send you a newsletter by e-mail if you have previously expressly confirmed the activation of the newsletter service to us by clicking on a link in a notification. If you later decide not to receive newsletters, you can cancel the subscription at any time with future effect by revoking your consent. The revocation takes place for e-mail newsletters via the link printed in the newsletter. Alternatively, please contact us using the details in the Contact section.

What rights do you have with regard to your personal data?
You have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
• You can request information about your stored personal data.
• You can ¬request that your personal data be corrected, supplemented, blocked or deleted.
• If you have given us consent to process your data, you can revoke this consent at any time with effect for the future.
A letter by post or e-mail is sufficient to exercise your rights. See the Contact section.

Data security
We use appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal data stored with us against manipulation, partial or complete loss and against unauthorised access by third parties. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.

Amendment of this privacy policy
We reserve the right to amend and supplement this statement at any time at our sole discretion and in accordance with data protection legislation. Please consult this statement regularly.
